Thank you for helping make Fair Trade Fortnight (1-16 May) Australia’s biggest yet! By making The Big Swap you joined thousands of people across the country who took part in hundreds of activities and events – all celebrating the big difference fair trade makes to the lives of millions of developing country farmers, workers, artisans, their families and communities.
BIG SWAPS MADE ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Fiestas, festivals, coffee breaks, high teas, markets – thousands of supporters across the country came together at hundreds of events to make The Big Swap to fair trade!

Speaking at Fair Trade Fortnight 2010 events in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, Kohinoor‘s stories from the field clearly showed how making The Big Swap to fair trade empowers artisans, farmers and workers to improve their lives, establish successful businesses and develop their communities.

Fair Trade Communities! including workplaces, schools, universities, faith groups, councils or community organisations across the country got together to make The Big Swap. Joining them was NAB who hosted Australia‘s biggest Fairtrade coffee break and announced that they will soon swap to Fairtrade Certified hot chocolate and sugar in all 800 of their offices nationwide

Learning from Commonwealth Scholarship
Capacity building regarding Women Leadership Development
Kohinoor Yeasmin, CEO of TARANGO join as a Commonwealth Fellow in England, organized by the Commonwealth Fellowship and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). A total 13 people were invited to join the program. And Kohinoor only participants selected from Asia. During her fellowship program she has able to learn more professionally the women’s equality in the UK. This program helped her to look at new ways of help women towards empowerment. Learned the women’s organizations are working for improve women’s equality in the UK has been a life changing experience.”
During her time in UK she has organized various promotional events for TARANGO where she presents ‘TARANGO Women Empower Approach’. Display TARANGO products & Bangladeshi food in Switch Embassy, Rights of Women Auditorium, Women resource center Auditorium supported by Ruth Zumble & Ms. Sheena Dey. Beside that, she also participated in various events organized by development organization in UK to preset TARANGO.
